Tocaro Loudspeakers are different from any other loudspeaker you will hear. They’re highly efficient (up to 103dB sensitivity!) and have the ability to “dig way down” into a recording and get to the meat of the music. They’re extremely dynamic, and have exceptional timing and pitch definition (three qualities that we consider most important!)
All Tocaro Loudspeakers use special full-range drivers which Miguel Herrero has spent years perfecting, making prototype after prototype. The driver membranes are made by hand from raw cellulose. The spiders are made from hardwood, as are the membranes of the new proprietary Tocaro high-frequency driver. All Tocaro Loudspeaker models ship with specially-designed stands that are absolutely integral to the performance of the loudspeaker.
The Tocaro Loudspeaker range began with the Tocaro 40, a stand-mounted loudspeaker with one full-range ten-inch driver. In the summer of 2012, Tocaro began shipping a range of four models:

The Tocaro 45E Loudspeakers employ twin ten-inch full-range drivers and a new five-inch high-frequency driver built around a proprietary laminated wood membrane (see picture below). The 45E uses no electrical crossover or filtering and there are three pair of speaker terminals so that the 45Es may be used with one, two, or three amplifiers. In the case of a single stereo amplifier, they may be tri-wired.

The Tocaro High-Frequency Driver
The laser-cut wood-laminate Tocaro 5" high-frequency driver. This driver is used in the Tocaro 45E and 42E models.

The Tocaro 42E Loudspeaker has a single ten-inch full-range driver as well as the new five-inch high-frequency driver. The 42E uses no electrical crossover or filtering and there are two pair of speaker terminals, so that one or two amplifiers may be used. In the case of a single stereo amplifier, the 42Es may be bi-wired.
